Paylop is a cashless tipping platform built for workers, enabling users to send and receive digital tips through wallet-based or Stripe-powered transactions.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Paylop mobile application and related services (the "Services").

By using Paylop, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Types of Users

Paylop supports two primary user types:

  • Senders – Individuals who send tips via wallet balance or Stripe payments.
  • Receivers – Individuals who receive tips and may request withdrawals.

Certain data collection practices differ depending on your role.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

For All Registered Users

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Account credentials (email/password)
  • Optional profile photo

For Senders

  • Wallet transaction data
  • Stripe PaymentIntent ID (for Stripe-based payments)

Paylop does not store or process full card details. All card information is processed securely by Stripe. Paylop stores only the associated PaymentIntent identifier for recordkeeping.

For Receivers

  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Bank account details (provided only when requesting a withdrawal)

Bank details are used solely for processing approved withdrawals.

3.2 Device & Technical Information

When you use Paylop, we collect:

  • Device ID
  • Platform (Android/iOS)
  • User agent
  • IP address
  • Last active timestamp

We do not collect GPS or real-time location data.

3.3 External Senders

In certain cases, tips may be sent by users who are not fully registered ("external senders"). Limited transaction-related information may be recorded to complete and reconcile the transaction.

4. How Payments and Wallets Work

Paylop operates on a ledger-based accounting system.

  • Wallet balances are updated only upon creation of ledger entries.
  • Available balances are not directly modified via administrative actions or external APIs.
  • Stripe-based tips create transaction and ledger records upon successful confirmation.
  • Wallet-based tips create a temporary lock before final ledger settlement.
  • Withdrawal requests create a pending balance entry. The balance is debited only after manual administrative approval.
  • Paylop does not directly custody or store card information.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process tips and wallet transactions
  • Record and maintain ledger entries
  • Process withdrawal requests
  • Send transactional communications
  • Provide authentication and device security
  • Prevent fraud and unauthorized access
  • Comply with applicable laws

We do not sell personal data.

We do not use personal data for advertising purposes.

6. Authentication & Security

Paylop supports:

  • Email/password login
  • Google and Apple sign-in
  • Biometric login (Android & iOS)
  • A 2-hour cooldown for login attempts from new devices

We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect user data.

However, no system is 100% secure. Users are responsible for safeguarding their credentials.

7. Notifications & Communications

Paylop currently sends:

  • Transactional emails
  • SMS messages for OTP authentication

We do not send marketing emails.

Push notifications may be implemented in the future. If introduced, users will be informed and given appropriate controls.

8. Data Retention

  • Transaction history is retained indefinitely for accounting and compliance purposes.
  • Financial records are retained indefinitely at this time.
  • Account deletion may be processed manually upon verified written request to support@paylop.com.
  • Certain financial records may be retained where legally required.

9. Admin Access

  • Withdrawal requests require manual administrative approval.
  • Administrators do not have direct access to modify available wallet balances.
  • Administrators may access bank details only for the purpose of processing a specific withdrawal request.

10. Data Sharing

We may share limited information with:

  • Stripe, for payment processing
  • Law enforcement or regulators when legally required
  • Service providers supporting system infrastructure

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

11. International Transfers

As Paylop operates in the United Arab Emirates, your information may be processed and stored in jurisdictions outside your country of residence.

By using Paylop, you consent to such transfers.

12. Children's Privacy

Paylop does not impose a strict age restriction. However, the Services are intended for individuals capable of entering into legally binding financial transactions.

If we become aware of improper use by minors under applicable law, we may suspend or terminate the account.

Subject to applicable law, you may:
